Welcome

Croeso i Ysgol Gynradd Rhosyn Gwyn

Welcome to White Rose Primary School.

Dear Parents and Carers,

A very warm welcome to our school website. At White Rose Primary School, we live by our motto: Believe, Learn and Grow Together. This simple yet powerful phrase captures the heart of everything we do — nurturing each child to believe in themselves, supporting them as they learn, and celebrating their growth as unique individuals.

We are privileged to watch your children grow and thrive in a stimulating and vibrant learning environment, where curiosity is encouraged and learning is brought to life through real-world experiences. We believe every child deserves to recognised for who they are, and we are committed to helping them become the very best version of themselves — confident, happy, curious, and fulfilled individuals who are empowered to follow their dreams.

Our dedicated and passionate team of staff work tirelessly to create a nurturing atmosphere where children feel safe, valued, and inspired. We believe that it takes a village to raise a child, and we are proud to play a leading role in that village of New Tredegar — working in close partnership with families and the wider community to support every child’s journey.

We follow the Welsh Curriculum, which is underpinned by the Four Purposes which we have turned into our own school characters — helping children become:

  • Healthy and confident individuals (represented by Healthy Harri)

  • Ambitious and capable learners (Ambitious Anwen)

  • Enterprising and creative contributors (Creative Carys)

  • Ethical and informed citizens (Resilient Rhys)

We are committed to working with you in the best interests of your child, and we value respectful, open relationships with all our families. If you ever wish to speak with your child’s teacher, our Family Liaison Officer, ALNCo, Deputy Headteacher, or myself as Headteacher, please don’t hesitate to contact us through the school office. We are here to listen, support, and work together in partnership to ensure your child’s happiness, wellbeing, and success.

We look forward to sharing in the joys and successes of your child’s learning journey. Together, we will continue to Believe, Learn and Grow — as a school, as families, and as a community.

Warm regards,

Mrs K Thompson

Headteacher
